The Plaque study is based on an original plaster cast from the 18th century Covent Garden. The creators D.Brucciani &co especially fabricated for the students of the Royal Academy London. Studies of charcoal and paintings where done by students to practice their techniques in form and shadow. This painting is executed on traditional canvas Belgian flax linen, the painting process is built up out of multiple thin glazes of oil paint to create soft transitions in the shadows, to create depth and luminosity.
